The Seeds Of The Future!

Please remember to turn off my play list!

I found this video this morning and wanted to share it! It is about genetically engineered seeds and food! What is happening to our world and the food we eat?

We need to go back to the simpler ways of life if at all possible. People need to start harvesting their own seeds from their gardens each year...that way you know what you are eating, and the seeds are not be genetically engineered! There are also seed trading groups. You can harvest a few of your seed types and trade with other gardeners!

I found several websites that tell you how to harvest garden seed for planting next year! You can read here here and here

I am now motivated to harvest seeds each year...that way my seeds can't be any farther engineered! We need to care about what we eat and feed our families!

Organic produce found at the grocery store can be very expensive! Those of us with large families on a budget can't realistically take that route. Home gardening can be cost effective and very rewarding. Start small... container gardens are a great way to start. No tiller needed and weeds are kept to a minimum.

Well Happy Gardening! Spring is just around the corner!

This Christmas has been very busy around here! My Hubby has time off and we plan to do some home improvement projects and possibly but our house on the market? I don't want to say to much about things as real estate is a touchy thing and nothing is ever certain! Please keep us in you prayers.

I hope you enjoy my pictures...I really like this Smilebox thing! After the new year I plan to have some better posts not just a bunch of pictures....those usually take me 3 hours or so...I'm a perfectionist. I don't have that kind of time right now. I found out about my perfectionism since I started blogging,so I'm never happy with my writing.

Winter Fun!

The kiddos are enjoying the Christmas Holiday with SNOW,SNOW and more SNOW!!!
Life is fun around here...we are still having a exciting time trying to catch our Christmas mouse! He has proven to be a sneaky little bugger!
Today we are trying to get the house picked up and the laundry done as we are predicted to have more snow and a wind storm tonight and may loose power for a few days! I can't stand a power outage in a messy house! I pray that it does not go out on Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Thankful Countdown

Christmas countdown banner

As I sit here holding my sleeping baby and typing one handed,I feel life slowing down a bit. I prayed for a new attitude and God delivered. Since there are 8 days until Christmas I thought it would be nice to think of 8 things I am thankful for today!

1.The snow is falling hard! The scenery is breath taking.

2.The kiddos have no school today! And are ALL playing well together.

3.I made more Chex mix and the roast and potatoes are in the crock pot.The house smells delicious. Dinner is on auto pilot!

4.Our family dog is snoring on his pillow in the living room, right were he belongs! He went missing for 2 days last week! We are thankful he is safely home!

5.I finally Christmas shopped for my Hubby's gifts...one stop shopping at Walgreen's last night. LOL! How pathetic? My teenager and I enjoyed picking things out for him and spending time together. I think he will enjoy the things we got him! And no I don't want to end up on Oprah's worst Christmas gifts, but my shopping is now complete! LOL My Hubby know's I love him!

6.The Polar Express is on TV right now...great movie! I love the music!

7.The ornaments are still on my tree....yeah! Our tree has taken forever to decorate and had its share of mishaps! LOL I love looking at our lite tree! The girls like to sit in front of it and play with their new Fisher Price Nativity set!

8. My teenager cleaned the TV room this morning before going out! Bless his heart! I love that boy! So far the teenage years have not been that bad. We talk often and hug daily!

Lost and Found

Our family dog,a beagle went missing Thursday night of last week. Saturday I finally had time to make posters and drive around for 3 hours looking for him. Saturday night we got snow here and it was very cold. We were very worried about our beloved pet! Early Sunday afternoon we got a call. Our dog had been found....he was 4 houses down on a road behind our house! He spent the last few nights...in their house. Someone picked him up from in front of our house!
He always gets out and just sticks around the hood. We knew someone had to have picked him up because he always stays close and comes back! We are thankful to have him back. Beagles love a good adventure!

Well we finally decorated our Christmas tree Friday night! We had a great time! Then
Saturday evening the baby pulled the tree over on to herself. She was fine, but all the ornaments were ejected from the tree! They were laying all over the living room. What a mess! It took us a week to get the tree in the house and finally get it decorated. Now the tree had no ornaments on it and the lights were all hanging off all uneven! It was a complete do over! It would have to wait until Sunday morning, as it was nearing bedtime. The tree only had 2 breakable ornaments and 1 broke, the rest of them were unbreakable!

I pray that life will slow itself down! I'm not one to pack my schedule..I can and do say NO to things. But it seems the schedule is picking up speed and I don't like it. My house is a mess and there is much still to do to get ready for Christmas.
As I sit here and type this post....I realize I have a bad attitude and if I want things to be different,I need to see things differently and get a new attitude! I think I'm just tired. I will pray about it! I need to spend more time with God...we missed Church on Sunday because the roads were bad! Going to Church rejuvenates my soul. I love the music and the quiet time to reflect and be with GOD. I can feel a difference in how my week is going! I think its from missing church! (I do spend time with God daily, church is a very special time I look forward to all week!)

I pray all is well with you and your family!

Backyard Christmas Tree!

Its Friday and our Christmas tree is still laying in the back yard, waiting to be brought in to decorate! The plan is to decorate it tonight!?
The girls and I did make the Chex mix yesterday after the bible study. It turned out great!
Today I think I might take the girls with me to do some Christmas shopping? I still haven't decided for sure....I'm such a homebody and I don't want to wake the girls! So I will see how late they sleep in.
The weather here is cold and rainy,we might get snow! The shopping I want to do is an hour away.
Christmas has really snuck up on me this year! I still have not done the Christmas letter I wanted to send out. I even told myself no STRESS.
Well here is a picture of a large pine tree in our back yard. My Hubby puts lights on it every year...so he can see it from the window.(I know it needs more lights but my Hubby is so proud of it...so I don't have the heart to tell him) Jackie thinks it perfect...so it must be! Jackie is our 3 year old. The day after Thanksgiving my Hubby worked all day putting up the lights on the outside of the house! Jackie came in the house and told me in her cute voice "My Dad is putting up Christmas!" She was his helper that day. She was so proud of her Dad!
The boys should have been out there, but they were out playing football in a neighbors yard.

Merry Christmas,
Georgiann

My Busy Life!

Just a cute picture of Princess Girl eating her soup!

Life has gotten busy around here! We are hoping to put the Christmas tree up tonight!
It has been 5 days since we got our tree!
I need to take Jackie to preschool this morning and go to my bible study.
I hope to make chex mix with the girls when we get home?! I've been saying we'd make it all week.
Tonight things should slow down around here....there are no night time activities. So the plan is to decorate the tree and drink eggnog while listening to our favorite Christmas music!

For now I will chug down my coffee and get the girls up! And let the fun begin....

Peace,
Georgiann

Christmas Party~

I was so proud of Nick! He played Mary Had A Little Lamb on his violin for Santa! He has only had 2 months of practice and can only play one song. It was his idea and he knew I would love it. I was a PROUD Momma! He showed such courage to play in front of everyone. Great job sweetheart!

Boy that sure looks like a lot of kids! Oh.....thats my family!

My baby and my oldest sitting with the Poinsettia that she won at the party! (poinsettias are poisonous so be careful)

Olivia peakin around the corner....watching Santa arrive through the side door.
She looked like a little doll in her Christmas dress and piggy tails!

My Hubby and some of the kiddos enjoying the party.

Our family Dec. 2008

Olivia opening her present from Santa!

I'm not eating that....you can't make me! I just want the hot cocoa! HUM!

Jackie making a Advent calender. You were to put 25 pieces of candy on the calender page and eat one each night. I think she did not hear that part? as the candy is now gone and its only the 9th.

We all had a blessed time at the Christmas party. The kids all got a gift from Santa and ate as much food as they wanted and...drank pop and hot cocoa. (pop is a treat in our house)
After the party we picked out our tree. We still have yet to put it up in the house and decorate it. Its now Tuesday....I will try to rearrange the house this morning? So maybe we can decorate it tonight?

Peace and Blessings,
Georgiann

Friday Free Day @ The Museum

Picking out a cookie at our favorite bakery.....oh the decisions! I think I will have the snowman cookie! Total yummo! Santa sure would love cookies from here!....and a big piece of cake?

Jackie really loved putting together sandwiches in the pretend deli! The floor is a great place to spread everything out! I don't think the health department will care? LOL

The girls are having fun in the art room! Olivia really liked eating the markers and bothering her sister. She had fun making her first piece of art. I totally enjoyed watching both the girls standing at the easel working! Our last trip here Olivia was not walking...now she was standing at the easel and running all over. Boy she is growing fast!
Jackie is brilliant with her art work. They both loved trying to put the lids on the markers. It was good watching.....their faces showed deep concentration as they matched the lid to the marker and pushed hard. (but not hard enough). LOL

Olivia was having the time of her life running around....sister got a little annoyed having a shadow so close behind. Olivia would squeal with delight when sister got mad....she knew! Its starting already....the joys of sisterhood!

The girls had a great time playing with the baskets and fruit at the make believe market! Olivia is now walking so she had fun "running" around after her sister! It was amazing to watch Olivia go over to the herb smelling bin...she would lift the lid and smell...then turn to see if momma was watching her be a BIG girl!
We all had a terrific Friday Free day!

Today (Sat.) we went to my Hubby's work Christmas party then got our tree! Something very special happened at the party that would warm any mom's heart like a big mug of hot cocoa on the first snow of the season! Stay tuned for pictures and a post in the next few days.
This weekend has been very busy! Hubby and I did our Christmas shopping and had a dinner date night after my long Friday with the girls...I have a funny picture from dinner at the Olive Garden! You won't want to miss this!

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

My New Baby Carrier~

Olivia loves her new carrier! I wore her using a front carry on the way to the Children's Museum. We parked and took the trolley through town, then walked up a few blocks.
On the way back I carried Olivia on my back. I needed some help with the back carry...making sure she was in good. I need to practice a little more at home. The mirrors in the museum helped.
She played hard and actually fell asleep in her carrier on the way back to the car! She walks real good now and loved totaling around after sister. She was so cute with her piggy tails!
We had a great time at the museum and our stop in our favorite bakery. I took a ton of pictures. I will post them later tonight or tomorrow.

Peace and Prayers,
Georgiann

Afternoon Fun~

Jackie is busy at work! She enjoys her special time with momma! Painting and Art are a few of her favorite things to do...she's become quit good at it I might add!
In the first picture she is playing with play dough and in the next picture she is making a foam mosaic of a stain glass window with candles....a Christmas decoration for the house.

Every afternoon Jackie and I do a special activity together while baby is napping.
We do such things as puzzles, board games, bake cookies, paint, play dough or art... the list goes on and on!

I really love playing with my 3 year old...she says the funniest things and takes pride in her craft! She is so fun to be with. Our afternoons together are such a blessing.

Tomorrow is Free Friday once again at the Children's Museum. I can hardly wait. The baby is still battling a cold and has to use her nebulizer, but I think she is well enough to play this time.

I bought a new Mei tia style carrier for Olivia. I like my sling but wanted something that I could carry her on my back while doing chores etc. It works well for a front carry as well. I hope to get a picture with her in it while out at the museum tomorrow!

Georgiann
