Mourning The Loss Of Our Dear Dog!

Hi all or whom ever comes to read my blog! Not to many of you come to say HI....not sure why?
But anywho, I have had a really long day with 2 dentist appt. for the kids and 2 baseball games to attend! While at my first game of the evening my hubby called me to say.....Benson our dog died!
I thought how could that be? I was just home 30 mintutes ago!
Well it seems that I let the dog out at 11:30 am as I left to take the kids to the denist and pick up a few groceries.
We got home around 2:15 pm, ate our McyD's then unloaded the car!
I gave the kitchen a quick tidy up and did the dishes.
I looked out the back door and
saw the dog laying under the picnic table "sleeping" and tossed him a piece of buttered toast one of the kiddos didn't eat from breakfast! Benson kept right on "sleeping" as the toast laid on the ground next to his back leg.
I said to myself, "Benson if you don't eat the bread the crows will get it".
Benson has always been kind of slow to get around.....its was his personality,so I did not think much of it.
I then quickly made brownies and tater-tot casserole a house favorite!
I forgot one of my boys was to bring snack for his game....so off to the store I went again.
We all ate a quick dinner and left the house about 5:15pm for the baseball games.
Hubby got home around 5:50pm and found the dog not moving!

Hubby was in shock about the whole thing and called me while I was in the middle of watching my first ball game....I still had about 1 1/2 hour before I would be home!
I held off telling the kids until we were on our way home.

Well, my head hurts and my eyes are all puffy and wet with tears. Its time I scoot to bed!
You can read some other posts of our dear ole dog!
 Here and Here and Here

Hubby and Jacob made a wooden box and dug a large hole for our Dear Benson.
We will have a small family ceremony with songs and prayers Saturday afternoon for our sweet dog.

I was caught......

....day dreamin' in the garden!

Last week after a yummy salmon dinner and some pie, hubby caught me day dreamin' in the garden!
That is one of HIS favorite parts of the family garden,as well as watching me pull weeds! lol
I am the one that usually has the camera in hand. But this night as I stood in dream land I could hear the sound of my camera as hubby took my picture!

On another note:

With all the rain we have had lately my garden is off to a slow start but give it about 4 weeks and I bet it will be like night and day!

Last nights baseball game was fun.....it drizzled on and off, the sun came out a few times and it was not to terribly chilly.
This morning it seems a bit colder than yesterday so after I retrieve my crock pot off the side of the house and scrape out the moldy pinto beans. I will make a large crock of taco soup for dinner tonight.
If you are wondering why my crock ended up on the side of the house....its because my hubby did not want to put the left over beans in a smaller dish, so he put the whole crock out side! He said,it was cold enough to keep. I was not going to serve food that was out all night to anyone! They never got brought in and its been about a week. Its ugly now! But whats a woman to do? I need my crock back!

So as I sit looking out my kitchen window, I can see rain pouring down. I pray it lets up long enough for me to get the job done!

I was wondering?.........Does anyone out there have Hillbilly ways that have been passed down from your husbands side of the family? lol  :) If so chime in and let me know. I sure could use the laugh!

Anyone with a good crock pot story?

Red Lavender Tea On A Rainy Day!

It always seems that when I get in front of the computer, I never know what to write or what I really want to share for the world to read. Those that know me I am always full of words! I'm going to try harder to write more of the things that are on my mind!

The rains are back today.....so much for the 10 days of sun the weatherman predicted! :(
I need to leave in 20 minute to take one of my kiddos to a baseball game!  I take a mason jar of warm herbal tea to sip during the game. So as I wait for my little tea pot to whistle, I thought I would write a little something on a topic I was not sure I wanted to share on my public blog! But here goes.....

It has been a long year of praying to be pregnant.....so with a negative pregnancy test month after month, I finally scheduled a trip to the doctor (OB/GYN). I needed my yearly anyways.
I still nurse my 2 1/2yr old daughter quit a bit but with my hair thinning and turning gray...I want to know what's going on with my body to see why I'm not prego yet.
My doctor scheduled me for some blood work to check my hormones, iron and thyroid.
Dr.E also informed me that my cervix is not where it should be......its behind my pubic bone.
I asked him how that happens? After having 6 kids I have never had a DR. tell me that. He had no explanation! Back in November I had my family doc check my thyroid and he said all was well.
He never gave me the numbers from my blood test.
My OB/GYN is always very thourgh so he is having me take the blood tests again.  I have to wait about a week before I can get my blood work done. Its time sensitive.....all about the timing.

I suppose I could be pregnant already but I need to wait a few more weeks before I can test.....and I'm not holding my breath!

Well my tea kettle is sounding off........and I have a boy that needs to get to a rainy day baseball game!

If you would, keep me in your prayers! Thanks in advance!

On A Summers Day~

I just realized ALL but my oldest kiddo is pictured in one frame!

Over the weekend Mr. Sun made a very nice appearance! The weatherman said, "the ford (or is it fort)cast is for sunny skies the next 10 days!"
With flowers and children beginning to wilt in the warm rays, we needed to bust out the kiddy pool and the tube of sun screen! Yipee! (we need to get our large pool set up if the weather stays nice!)
We slurped on cold watermelon and chomped on grilled cheesy hot dogs! Oh and all the Otter pops I just bought are gone too!
This weekend......
My kitchen floors were lined with towels to keep wet kiddos from slipping. My yard was FULL of Otter pop trash! (The kiddos had to clean it all up)
I finally gave up saying "Please do not come in the house all dripping wet!"

Since the girls I could not find the girls bathing suits they used their clothes to swim in. Olivia would not keep her clothes on! (we are trying to teach modesty) She would sit in the grass and start striping down! I was able to make her keep her undies on at least!.....I will be looking for their swimsuits today!
Little Miss Jackie blew through almost 1/2 her pack of new undies. They have the days of the week on them.(a learning thing)  She opened her new pack Sunday morning about 10pm.....so I gave her the Sunday ones to wear! By late afternoon she told me she was on Wednesday! So I checked the new bag and sure enough she had gone through 4 pair of  her new panties! EEKKK!
Both girls went through about 5 outfits each.....all in one day!

There are piles of wet towels and clothes every where..... bathrooms, living room, bedrooms, even the back yard!
6 kids + swimming season = a ton of laundry!
All a sure sign summer has begun!

Well like most Mondays around our house......it looks like a tornado blew though!

My to do list for today:

5 loads of laundry
3 loads of dishes
clean out fridge
clean All 3 bathrooms
declutter kitchen table
(I need to change the table cloth)
general tidy up
sweep kitchen floors

The schedule is busy here ALL week!

We have 5 baseball games
A cub scouts awards
2 dentist apt's
1 Dr. apt.

I pray everyone had a good weekend.....you all must have been busy basking in the nice weather, as no one came by my blog!
(with the weather so nice I did not go on the computer either!)
