I Love Wearing My Baby~

I love wearing my baby in my Sling EZee. I bought it online at the Quiverfull website. It is very padded and comfortable. My baby feels secure in it. At church if she wants to be nursed she grabs at her sling...in she goes then when she's asleep my arms don't hurt from carrying her. I just cinch it tight,so she's snug to my chest. My sling does the work for me!

I have also used a Over The Shoulder Baby Holder. I sadly miss placed it. When I first started baby wearing I was wearing the wrong size...I had a NOJO. I purchased it at a second hand store. It was to small and cut into my neck. Baby wearing can and should be enjoyable and comfortable....but you need a proper fitting carrier or sling. Don't give up if you have not found the right one!

I love the benefits of wearing my baby. There are to many to count! It is important to have the correct size carrier for your body size...if not it can be uncomfortable. If you are having trouble finding a comfortable carrier ask around.... talk to people...many mom's at La Leache League baby wear and are a great resource of info. on comfy slings and carriers to try.

So if you are a mom that knows the endless rewards of wearing babies and tots but haven't found that perfect sling or carrier...keep lookin'....ask around. It should never hurt! It can and should be comfortable. You can go here to TheBabyWearer.com and read more.

Happy Baby Wearin' to ALL~

What sling or carrier have you tried and loved.....which ones have you tried and not liked?

  1. Great post, Georgiann! I am an avid babywearer. I use slings a lot (my fave is the www.sleepingbaby.net sling) and I also love the Ergo baby carrier. My carrier of choice, however, is a german-style woven wrap (brand names such as Didymos or Storchenwiege). You can do so many different carries in them (back, front, hip, etc.) and it is incredibly comfy. I used to post a lot at www.thebabywearer.com as ChristineG and have lots of wrap pics there. :)

  2. I used a Baby Bjorn when mine were little, and BOY do I miss that hot squishy baby nestled into me......

  3. Oh! And, I notice that when I comment there is a little pic of me with a baby wrapped on my back. That particular wrap is a hideous colour and is now dyed chocolate brown. :)

  4. Cute Mama and baby. I can't remember what mine was called (6 years now) but I loved it and it sure came in handy. Very informative post - thank you.

  5. My ring sling is my favorite, because it's beautiful, versatile, and I can nurse in it discreetly. I love all my carriers (I have at least ten slings, wraps, and mei tais) but I don't have a Baby Bjorn or Snugli. I do not like those, and have had SO many people tell me theirs is hurting their back! It's because baby's entire weight is hung on your shoulders. Other more natural carriers distribute it much better.

I wanted to let you know about the contest I am having right now. It is for a two week taster pack of Glow Mama drinks! They are great for moms and pregnant women. Stop by and enter when you have a minute :-)

  6. Hi there Christine~

I wanted to ask you....the carrier you are wearing (the orange one),is it just a long piece of fabric? I was looking at the Moby wraps at Target...they seem like they would be hard to wrap up,so much fabric to deal with?
I would love to get a carrier that baby can go in the center of my body or on my back eazily? Olivia is 13 mo old,(22#). I want to use a carrier I can move around in and do chores with her. My sling is awkward for that. The sling,I use at church and when we are out. I love it.

    What do you recomend?

    Peace in Christ,
    Georgiann

  8. Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and invite me over. I'm all about wearing babies, too. I started with a homemade ring sling (pattern from elizabthleedesigns.com). Shortly after baby #4 was born I switched to a basic wrap and I find it much more versatile and comfortable. My first was a regular cotton weave but I've since found I like the give of the knit better. Either way, it's probably the least expensive way to go - 3 yards of fabric from the clearance rack cost me $3. A sheet would work, too, if you have extra. I cut the 3 yards in half lengthwise and sewed them end to end, finishing the edges. The end result is 6 yards of fabric that are easy to wrap up and carry Baby in once you learn how. I get comments everywhere I go and always give them as gifts to new moms. With the ring sling I only ever could figure out how to nurse on one side comfortably, but since this is symetrical, I just flip Baby over when he/she's done on one side. My husband likes to wear it, too and either one of us can comfortably carry a toddler on our back or hip in it. Because there's no extra padding, it also packs well when you're not using it.

    Well, there's that...
